As has been discussed in previous articles, the Residential and Commercial Real Estate market has been experiencing its fair share of volatility within the US economy this year. The confluence of primary market factors such as; oil prices, currency exchange rates, and greater debt are usually the foundation for the upward or downward trends of the economy.

Although the US Economy remains in a rather turbulent state, the housing market has picked up nicely. Despite new homes sales decreasing by 6% in May, rates for new homes sales in the US reached their highest point since 2008, a striking 12.3% increase from the previous month alone.

Employment in the US continues to gradually expand while mortgage rates have been lowered to an average of 3.54% (down from 4% this time last year). Another key factor is that home inventories are increasing and asking prices are decreasing. The combination of greater inventory, a balanced purchase rate, and at lower mortgages, will continue to smoothly lift the housing market.
